In the Pioneer Valley town of Williamsburg, two land trusts are working to protect a 288 acre defunct golf course from development. If they succeed it will go back to being a forest. The land trusts need donations and volunteers. Details are on the Facebook page of one of the groups, Hilltown Land Trust. The other group is the Trustees of Reservations.

“Hundreds of members of Jewish Voice for Peace in New York protested outside of the office of Immigration and Customs Enforcement Monday on the third night of the major Jewish holiday Passover. They gathered in support of a growing number of immigrant activists who have been taken prisoner by ICE, including New York residents Mahmoud Khalil and Mohsen Mahdawi, both Palestinian participants of pro-Palestine protests at Columbia University last year,” Democracy Now reported on April 15. In Brattleboro on April 19 at noon there will be a rally to call for a ceasefire in Gaza. The rally will be outside the main post office. A group that's promoting the rally has a web page at:

On May 1, the Vermont-based group Migrant Justice will hosting picketing at the Williston, Vermont Hannaford supermarket all day, urging potential customers to not cross the picket line and to not shop at Hannaford until they sign onto the Milk with Dignity program.
There are also two May Day rallies:
--Williston: starts at 5 p.m. at the Green Space, 28 Walnut Street—rally and march to the ICE data center,
--Montpelier: 4:30 p.m. -- 7 p.m. on the statehouse lawn, sponsored by AFL-CIO, other unions and working-class organizations.
The Vermont Workers’ Center is organizing carpools from Windham county, which is home to Brattleboro.
