Hundreds at Venezuela Peace Rallies

A total of about 250 people attended rallies to protest Trump's attack on Venezuela. The rallies were on January 4 in Springfield, Greenfield and Brattleboro. There were also rallies in Holyoke and Northampton. The organizers of those rallies did not reply to an email asking how many people were there. Organizers told the Valley Post that about 80 people rallied in Greenfield and about 85 in Brattleboro. Organizers posted on social media that about 85 people were at the rally in Springfield, Massachusetts.

In Northampton on December 22, 2025, civil disobedience won a court case. Israel's USA-funded genocide in Gaza was the background. Four people were arrested in Northampton during the winter of December 2024 through March 2025 for refusing to leave the office of L3 Harris, a corporation that profits from war.

The victorious defendants were Patricia Gallagher, Priscilla Lynch, Nick Mottern and Paki Wieland. On December 19, 2025, Jaime Rogers told the Valley Post there were errors in the Gazette's December 18, 2025 news article about the trial. Rogers is the Northampton lawyer for the peace protesters.

Rogers said, “Paki is the correct spelling of her first name. The action was not only related to an arrest warrant for the CEO, but was also for the purpose of delivering a message to all executives and workers at L3Harris, as well as to the community generally. The charges were originally criminal, then later converted to civil. Jaime is the correct spelling of my first name.”
