2,000 March, Rally in Valley

About 2,000 people marched and rallied to protest Trump on April 19 in Northampton and other cities and towns in the Pioneer Valley, according to one of the groups that organized the events. The group has a web site at https://in-slwm.org. Photos and video of the marches and rallies are on the group's Facebook page.

In the Pioneer Valley village of Turners Falls, on April 25 at 6:30 p.m. there will be a rally to protect the Connecticut river. One of the organizers is Priscilla Lynch. She told the Valley Post that, to get to the rally, people can, “Take the first left after you go over the Gill/Montague bridge from the Gill side. There are parking lots. We will be along the river there. We will have a large banner set up.” Details are at https://ctRiverDefenders.org.

In Holyoke on May 5 there be an environmental rally. “Massachusetts has ample sites for solar and battery storage to reach the state’s greenhouse gas emission goals—-without further sacrifices of natural and working lands,” the organizers wrote. “The  state should site solar on rooftops, parking lots, landfills, and other developed lands, rather than continuing to clear forests and convert productive farmland.” The rally will be outside 221 Appleton Street at 4:30 p.m. Details are at https://nabUnited.org.
