No Kings; Land Saved

The members of the People's Resistance Marching Band play trombone, snare drum, tuba, steel pan, trumpet, bass drum. At the Brattleboro No Kings march on September 12, they played the reggae song Get Up, Stand Up; the New Orleans classic When The Saints Go Marching In; and other songs.

Singers from the Good Trouble Choir sang. The weather was 65 degrees and sunny with a light breeze. Among the signs people carried in the march were “ICE out of Vermont” and “Migrant Justice.”

The march began at 1 Main Street (Plaza park) and ended at Wells fountain in front of the town office and library. At the march's end there was a Trump pinata for the kids. It was stuffed with playdo, rubber bouncy balls and temporary tattoos. Two hundred people marched. The band has a web site at:

The Amherst-based Kestrel land trust, and another land trust, announced on September 11 they had saved 1,200 acres in the Pioneer Valley.
