War Tax Resisters to Rally November 6 in Amherst

New Englanders who refuse to pay taxes that fund war will speak at a free public event in Amherst on November 4. More than half of the $2.7 trillion federal budget was spent on the military in the most recent fiscal year, according to the War Resisters League:

On November 6 at noon, war tax resisters will hold a rally at the Amherst town common. The public is invited to attend.

The November 4 event starts at 7:15 p.m. at 120 Pulpit Hill Road with a speech by Ed Hedemann. The author of the book War Tax Resistance, Hedemann has refused to pay war taxes since 1970. His speech will be followed by questions and comments from the audience, and a concert by musicians to-be-announced.

This is part of a three-day conference November 4-6 at Pioneer Valley Cohousing in Amherst.

The conference is the 26th Annual New England Regional Gathering of War Tax Resisters and Supporters.

More information about the conference is available from Daniel Sicken (pronounced SEEkin) by phone at (802) 387-2798 or by e-mail at dhsicken@yahoo.com
