Photo: Connecticut River in Downtown Brattleboro

This photo was taken on May 10 from an apartment in downtown Brattleboro. It shows the Connecticut River, and train tracks that Amtrak uses for service from Brattleboro to Springfield, New York City, and other locations. Downtown Brattleboro has seen a boost with construction of a new, energy efficient food co-op building that's nearly the size of a typical supermarket, and that has apartments upstairs (the store is set to open next month); the decision last month by the state to open a new college campus downtown; and the re-opening on May 4 of Brattleboro Community Radio www.wvew.org whose studio was burned down in an accidental fire just over a year ago.
