Alan Doyle is scheduled to play with his band in Amherst at the Drake on February 22 at 8 p.m. His upcoming tour includes stops in Germany, New York City and Florida. You can hear one of his songs at:

According to a book that Doyle wrote about his life, he grew up in the Canadian fishing village of Petty Harbour in Newfoundland. The book got a positive review from the Calgary Herald daily newspaper. Doyle wrote that he grew up in the 1970s in a two-bedroom house with his parents, two sisters, and a brother, plus frequent house guests. The house lacked modern plumbing. He still lives in Newfoundland.
