Here are some of the lyrics to Franti’s song, “Bomb the World to Pieces.”
---------
We can chase down all our enemies,
bring them to their knees.
We can bomb the world to pieces
but we can’t bomb it into peace
Violence brings one thing:
more and more of the same…
So I sing out to the masses,
stand up if you’re still sane!
...I sing, ‘Power to the peaceful…’
---------
Franti will play at large venues in Germany on July 4, in California July 19, and in New York City on Sept. 3. His concerts are usually sold out.
The Greenfield festival is July 17-18.
On July 17, more than a dozen musicians who are represented by the Whately, Mass.-based Signature Sounds record label will play at the festival. These include Chris Smither, Richard Shindell, and the Winterpills.
C.J. Chenier and the Red Hot Louisiana Band will also play in Greenfield.
Until July 12, festival tickets are $45. After July 12, tickets will cost $25 for Friday only, $45 for Saturday only, or $60 for both days. Children under 12 are free.
