About 950 people attended women's marches in Northampton, Brattleboro, and Keene on October 2. The goal was to protect abortion rights. About 800 people marched in Northampton. That event was organized by Deborah Pastrich-Klemer, Planned Parenthood, and a group called the Valley Women's March.
About 125 people marched in Brattleboro. That event was organized by Tracy Donahue and others.
The number one cause of climate change is overpopulation.

A woman and a man who live in different towns, both of which are about 30 minutes by car from Keene, were arrested with 16 other people for non-violent civil disobedience on October 3. The protest was outside a facility that burns coal to make electricity. The facility is in Bow, New Hampshire. Bow is about 50 miles from Keene. It borders the state capitol, Concord. One of the groups that organized the protest has a web site at https://350vermont.org.

On September 29, 2021 the pedestrian got off the Moover bus on Putney Road and was hit while crossing the road. The pedestrian was taken to the Brattleboro hospital with major injuries. On October 6, the Brattleboro police chief told the Valley Post the pedestrian was still alive.
Activists are working to get the state to install a proper sidewalk with a curb in this spot. Also a crosswalk. Many people walk and ride bicycles there. The town of Brattleboro plows snow off of miles of sidewalks. The other side of the road is even worse for pedestrians and bicycles because there is a swale/ditch immediately next to the white line, and a low cliff next to that. One solution would be to bury the utility lines so there would be no need for telephone poles, and build a proper sidewalk with a curb where the poles had been. The activists have a web site at www.LocalMotion.org.
